In 2021, she recognized that there was a consistent need to spend more time with patients during medical visits to not only review labs and discuss medicines, but to cover important and personalized lifestyle interventions to maximize health. She therefore founded Summon Health, the first direct care endocrine clinic in Pittsburgh, PA that specializes in metabolic health. The mission is to deliver evidence-based, personalized, and comprehensive medical care by addressing nutrition with a plant-based focus, exercise, and stress, in addition to continuing to use medicine therapies to help each person summon their best metabolic health. At Summon Health she supplements the medical visits by being the first medical specialist in Pittsburgh to schedule medical visits applying culinary medicine through use of her teaching kitchen and meditation instruction via her meditation room. With this innovative approach, patients are active participants in their medical care where they feel heard, understood, and have the reassurance that their physician is advocating for their health with each step of their journey. Dr. Sobel lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband, two children, and their dog. She is a proud Latina, first generation born in the United States and raised bilingual in Spanish. She loves food, going to farmers markets, art festivals, learning about the diversity of cultures, dancing (both socially and to embarrass her children), and socializing with family and friends.
